Which Hoopster widgets work in StandBy
StandBy shows small widgets, side by side in two stacks. Hoopster has five in the small size:
| Widget | What it shows | Cost |
|---|---|---|
| Next Game | A countdown to your team's next tip-off | Free |
| My Team | Your team's record, standing and next game | Hoopster MVP |
| My Player | Your player's number and season averages | Hoopster MVP |
| Latest News | Basketball headlines as they land | Hoopster MVP |
| Team Colors | Your team's name and colors, even offline | Hoopster MVP |
StandBy draws widgets on black, and Hoopster's switch to their dark look there so they stay readable at night. The Tonight scoreboard only comes in large sizes, so it lives on the Home Screen rather than in StandBy. Hoopster MVP is $2.99 a month or $19.99 a year in the US.
Set up StandBy with Hoopster
- Install Hoopster and pick your team, so the widgets know who to show.
- Open the iPhone Settings app, tap StandBy and turn it on.
- Lock the iPhone, put it on a charger and turn it on its side. StandBy starts after a moment.
- Swipe left or right to the widgets view.
- Touch and hold one of the two stacks, tap +, search for Hoopster and add Next Game.
- Tap Done. Swipe up or down on a stack to move between its widgets.
The live game in StandBy
When your team's game starts, Hoopster's Live Activity appears on its own, and iOS shows it in StandBy too: tap it to fill the screen with the score, the clock and the quarter. The score is free for the first five minutes of every game and for the whole game with Hoopster MVP. See how to get NBA scores on your Lock Screen.
Watching later?
If you turn on Hide scores in Hoopster's Settings, the widgets keep finals hidden in StandBy too, and the Live Activity pauses. See how to follow the NBA without spoilers.
